Abbey Farm
Privately owned site managed for wildlife by the farmer. Pools adjacent to the Babingley river, woodland, scrub/carr, unimproved grazing. There is a small hide.
Species: All year round: Little Owl, Barn Owl, Tree Sparrow, Gadwall, Shelduck, Redshank, Lapwing and Common Buzzard. Occasional Red Kite, Snipe, Mandarin and Bullfinch.
Spring / Summer: Kingfisher, finches, warblers, Turtle Dove.
Access: Free small parking area (5 cars) half a mile along Abbey Road off the B1153 to the east of the village of Flitcham. Can also be reached by turning north off the A148 1 mile east of Hillington.
